Upshur man acquitted in toddler's death
BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- A Buckhannon man has been acquitted of causing the death of his then-girlfriend's toddler son.
An Upshur County Circuit Court jury reached the verdict Friday in the trial of Johnathon Andrew Clyde Queen.
Queen, 24, was charged with child abuse resulting in death. Chandler Andrew Oberg, 21 months old, was pronounced dead at a Morgantown hospital in August 2010.
Media outlets reported prosecutors argued that the child's brain injuries were intentional, but a forensic pathologist called as a defense witness testified there weren't definitive signs the child died from shaken-baby syndrome.
