Alleged bath salts dealer wants trial delay

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. -- The man who prosecutors say ran daily operations at two north-central West Virginia stores that sold illegal bath salts wants his trial delayed.John Skruck's trial on drug-related charges was to begin May 12, but his lawyers say he's not ready. They say they've received more than 10,000 pages of discovery -- about 1,000 since mid-March.Defense attorney Thorn Thorn says he needs more time to study them. He also says he only got a list of the government's witnesses about 10 days ago.
A pre-trial memorandum from prosecutors suggests Skruck ran the show for owner Jeffrey Paglia before agents raided and closed the Hot Stuff Cool Things stores in Buckhannon and Clarksburg.Authorities called them a major distributor of hallucinogenic bath salts in the region.
