W.Va. State names new president's chief of staff
INSTITUTE, W.Va. -- West Virginia State University has named Ashley Schumaker as the president's chief of staff and special assistant.
Schumaker will serve as a liaison with the university's Board of Governors. She also will provide support and handle event planning for the President Office's.
Schumaker currently serves as senior director of board and public relations for the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission. In her new job, she will work with the commission on reports the university is required to submit.
She will begin her new job July 1. The university announced Schumaker's appointment Thursday in a news release.
