WVU Tech alumni raising funds for wall
MONTGOMERY, W.Va. -- An alumni group at the West Virginia University Institute of Technology is trying to raise $30,000 to build a wall at the entrance to the Montgomery campus.
To raise money for the wall, the Tech Golden Bear Alumni Association is selling bricks at $100 apiece that will be placed behind the wall. Messages can be engraved on the bricks and are available through the alumni association.
The wall will include WVU Tech's full name and will be placed on the former site of a residence hall next to a bridge crossing into Montgomery.
A company owned by WVU Tech alumnus John Jarrett is overseeing construction of the project.
