Car struck child and fled, dispatchers say

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Police are looking for a driver who allegedly struck a child before fleeing on Charleston's West Side on Tuesday.

Kanawha County Metro 911 dispatchers said paramedics took the child to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The accident happened at about 6:45 p.m. near 423 Virginia Street West.

Charleston police are looking for a 1997 Buick Riviera, seen heading west after the accident.
