Four headed to state agriculture, forestry hall of fame

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Four people have been selected for induction into the West Virginia Agriculture and Forestry Hall of Fame.They are Patrick D. Bowen, Roger L. Nestor, C. Elwood Williams and Eldon Plaugher. The four will be enshrined at the hall's annual banquet on July 20 at Jackson's Mill near Weston.
Bowen has been working in environmental conservation projects for three decades and is a proponent of nutrient management planning. Nestor worked as an agriculture extension agent in Upshur and Barbour counties for 35 years until his retirement in 2012.While working at Pierce Foods in Moorefield, Williams helped design equipment for the production of "Wing Dings.'' Plaugher spent 35 years as a forester and land surveyor for MeadWestvaco and currently manages a Christmas tree farm.
