Buffalo Bridge reopens after tractor-trailer accident

By Staff reports

BUFFALO, W.Va. -- One person was injured after a tractor-trailer overturned on the Buffalo Bridge along U.S. 35 in Putnam County on Thursday.

The accident occurred just after 2 p.m. and involved several other vehicles, according to a Putnam County 911 dispatcher. Paramedics took one person to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Putnam sheriff's deputies, state police troopers and the Winfield Volunteer Fire Department responded. The accident closed a section of the Buffalo Bridge for more than an hour.

Several other vehicle accidents have occurred on this particular stretch of U.S. 35 in recent months. A tractor-trailer overturned and spilled a disinfectant chemical across the bridge in May.
