The Charleston Light Opera Guild will hold additional singing, acting and dancing auditions for "Chicago" at 3 p.m. Saturday at the theater, 411 Tennessee Ave. Prepare a musical selection and bring sheet music. Scripts will be provided. All but those auditioning for Billy Flynn, Amos Hart and Mary Sunshine must dance. Performers must be at least 16. Performance dates are Aug. 2-4, 9 and 10. Chamber music concert
Charleston Chamber Music Society will present "Music Among Friends" as part of FestivALL at 7 p.m. June 24 at Kanawha United Presbyterian Church, 1009 Virginia St. E. The featured piece of the evening is avant-garde composer Morton Feldman's "Crippled Symmetry," inspired by the asymmetry of hand-woven Oriental rugs. Lindsey Goodman (flute, bass flute), along with fellow performers Anne Waltner (piano, cellist) and Scott Christian (vibraphone, glockenspiel) will perform. Feldman, who died in 1987, was heavily influenced by abstract expressionist painters. Tickets, available at the door, are $10 for adults, $3 for students and free for kids with paying adults.
