Neighbor detains two in Fayette County until police arrive
FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. -- A man and a female juvenile were held at gunpoint Friday morning in Fayette County until police arrived.
A neighbor spotted Michael Clark, 22, of Lookout, and a juvenile female enter a house at 56 Foster Hill Road, according to Deputy R.V. Neal with the Fayette County Sheriff's Department.
The neighbor went inside his own house, grabbed a gun and told the pair to stay put until police arrived, Neal said. Police showed up 12 minutes later at 9:46 a.m. The house wasn't locked and the pair had entered through the front door, according to Neal.
Neal said they don't recommend that citizens apprehend suspects in this way.
"It could be dangerous, but he's a good neighbor," Neal said.
Clark is charged with felony entering without breaking. The girl was returned to her parents.
