Ohio man in hospital after rafting mishap

OAK HILL, W.Va. -- A 42-year-old Ohio man was listed in stable condition at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill after he fell out of a raft during a commercial New River Gorge float trip Tuesday, lost consciousness and was revived by an Adventures on the Gorge guide and another rafting guest.According to National Park Service spokeswoman Robin Snyder, the accident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. in Double Z rapids, one of the most challenging passages on lower Gorge raft trips. The unidentified Ohio man, one of several people who fell out of the raft, was given CPR, revived and transported by a CSX rail car to the nearest ambulance-accessible road. Snyder said National Park Service rangers are investigating the accident
