Charleston mayor's son pleads not guilty to drug charge
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The son of Charleston Mayor Danny Jones pleaded not guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to deliver during his arraignment on Tuesday.
Zachary Francis Jones, 23, appeared in court wearing a suit and tie. Last month, Kanawha Circuit Judge Duke Bloom reduced bail to allow him to attend a drug treatment facility in Huntington.
"How's your treatment program?" Bloom asked. "Absolutely wonderful," Jones replied.
"You look good and look healthy today," the judge told him.
Bloom set a trial date for Aug. 5.
