By Staff reports

HURRICANE, W.Va. -- Police are investigating after a train struck a tractor-trailer in Hurricane on Tuesday.

Hurricane Mayor Scott Edwards said the accident happened along Teays Valley Road near Hurricane High School at about 6 p.m.

The driver of the tractor-trailer tried to beat a train traveling approximately 25 mph, Edwards said. The train struck the tractor-trailer's cargo bay, barely missing the cab, he said. No one was injured and Hurricane police are investigating.
