MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- The parents of a 16-year-old West Virginia girl who authorities say was killed by her best friends are holding a memorial service more than a year after their daughter's death.The remains of Skylar Neese had been in the custody of the FBI at Quantico, Va., from the time they were found in January until late last month, when they returned to the local prosecutor.The teen went missing July 6, 2012. One of her closest friends -- 16-year-old Rachel Shoaf -- has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in Skylar Neese's death. Another girl also is accused, but she has not been identified because her case remains in juvenile court.
WOWK-TV reports the service will be held at the Kingdom Evangelical Methodist Church in Westover on Friday. Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday.The memorial service will start at 5 p.m. Friday.The Neeses have opened the service to the public.
