SBA Hurricane Sandy Funding brings free training to disaster-hit counties
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Women's Business and Training Center is offering business information sessions at no cost in Braxton, Clay, Fayette, Greenbrier, Kanawha, Nicholas and Webster counties. Sessions are made possible through funding from the U.S. Small Business Administration's Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief.
Sessions include "Business Basics and Financing," "Marketing," "Customer Service," "Dealing with Difficult People," "Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint," "Affordable Healthcare Act," "HIPAA" and "Manufacturing Assistance."

ABCs of Starting a Business: 10 to 11:30 a.m. July 30. Those wanting to own a business can discover how to obtain a business license, choose a business location and plan and finance a business. Get marketing and managing tips and information about how to select a legal structure for the business.
Business Planning and Financing: 12:30 to 2 p.m. July 30, at the SBA Office conference room in Charleston. Discover the basics of how to research and develop a business plan that will serve as the blueprint for a business idea. Explore how to prepare a budget and other financial data required to determine the feasibility of an idea or to package a loan when seeking funding sources.
