LOGAN, W.Va. -- The third annual Chief Logan Hunting and Fishing Expo will take place Aug. 24 and 25 at the lodge and conference center in Chief Logan State Park.Ron and Amy Shirley, of Lizard Lick Towing and Recovery Co., will headline the show. In addition to their reality TV show, the Shirleys are avid outdoorsmen and hunters.
The Logan County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a return appearance of Frank Addington Jr., known as "The Aspirin Buster," because he splits an aspirin in half with an arrow during his demonstrations of his bow and arrow skills.Kenny and Aharon Davis, of Appalachian Big Game TV and Tachycardia Outdoors, will present a program on hunting whitetails in the Appalachian region versus in the Midwest. And a National Wildlife and Turkey Federation-sanctioned turkey calling contest will take place at 2 p.m. Aug. 24 with registration at 10 a.m.Additional events include ATV safety demonstrations, air rifle range, Hawg Trough fishing pond, laser shot trailer, fishing demonstrations and bird dog demonstrations with Bob Fala.Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 24 and 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 25.
