Boy dies in I-77 truck accident
RIPLEY, W.Va. -- A 1-year-old boy is dead after being thrown from a truck during a crash in Jackson County on Tuesday, police say.
The boy's name has not been released, a Jackson County Sheriff's Department dispatcher said Wednesday.
Shawn Souther, of Parkersburg, was driving with his wife and son along Interstate 77 when he lost control and flipped into the northbound lanes near Kenna, a dispatcher said. Souther and his wife, Jessica, were not wearing seatbelts and were thrown from the truck. Their son was also thrown from the truck while secured in a car seat.
