Democratic Women's Club
Jan Cahill, sheriff of Greenbrier County, will be providing a program on the Drug Task Force at the Democratic Women's Club meeting. All Democrats and interested parties are invited to attend at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the upstairs courtroom of the Greenbrier County Courthouse. Also, plans will be completed for the annual picnic at Sen. Miller's farm on Sept. 14.
Elk Valley PSD
Elk Valley Public Service District commissioners will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday at 100 Bream Drive, Elkview.
The Root and Branch Inc. is sponsoring "An Evening of Jewish, Christian and Islamic Dialogue," from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Columbia Gas Transmission cafeteria. Topics for discussion are "Eschatology: A Look at Both Monotheistic and Polytheistic Traditions" and "End of Days." Guest panelist will be Dr. Robert Newman, University of Charleston professor emeritus and director of the Lay Academy of First Presbyterian Church of Charleston. Regular panelists are Rabbi Victor Urecki, B'nai Jacob Synagogue; Monsignor P. Edward Sadie, Basilica of Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral; and Dr. Imam Hague, West Virginia Islamic Association.
