Putnam Adult Learning Center in Eleanor will offer an accelerated GED program, which will begin on Sept. 9 at the center. The current GED program will end Dec. 31 and the new high school assessment will begin in January. Group classes are geared to help participants finish this year. Those participating must attend an orientation and pre-assessment session this Thursday before the classes begin. Call 304-586-2411 to register.
The Charleston Table Tennis Club is starting its season at 6 p.m. on Sept. 9 in the North Charleston Recreation Center. This is an adult club for table tennis enthusiasts. All players must bring their own racket. Contact Dale Goff at 304-415-8685 for details.
The Woman's Club of Charleston will have a style show and luncheon beginning noon Sept. 11 at the clubhouse at 1600 Virginia St. E. The show is a fundraiser for Camp Kno-Koma and the Garnet Career Center Nursing Scholarship Program. A light lunch will be served at noon. The style show features club members as models, wearing clothes from Ivor's Trunk and Talbot's. Reservations are required to attend the style show fundraiser. The cost is $20 per person and reservations can be made by calling 304-776-7800 by Sunday. Tickets may also be purchased in advance at the club, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., Sept. 4 through 6.
