Sock hopSpeakEasy Singles will have a sock hop from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday at Wilson Student Union, West Virginia State University. A variety of dance music will be played. Free appetizers and nonalcoholic drinks for $1 will be offered. Those who don't wish to dance can come to listen to the music and socialize.Parks commissionKanawha County Parks and Recreation Commission's finance and golf committees will meet at noon Monday in the Coonskin Park Clubhouse Oak Room. Mountain State Charter Chapter of the American Business Women's Association will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Ryan's Restaurant. The chapter will celebrate its 17th anniversary after merging with Almost Heaven Chapter on Sept. 18, 1996. Members are urged to attend and bring any memorabilia to display.
