Kanawha GOP to hold congressional straw poll
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Kanawha County Republican Executive Committee will hold a candidate forum and straw poll for the Republican primary in West Virginia's 2nd Congressional District on Sept. 21 at the Charleston Civic Center. The public is invited to attend.
The event starts at 6 p.m. and dinner will be at 6:30, followed by the forum and balloting. Tickets for the dinner are $50. Parking is free.
The race for the seat held by outgoing Rep. Shelley Moore Capito has attracted several Republican contenders. Candidates who are confirmed to speak are Steve Harrison, Charlotte Lane, Alex Mooney, Jim Moss and Ron Walters Jr., according to a news release.
Make checks payable to the Kanawha County Republican Executive Committee and send them to KCREC Lincoln Day Dinner, 827 Chestnut Road, Charleston, WV 25314. Sponsorships are available, and groups can sponsor a table for $500 and receive 10 tickets and acknowledgement in the program.
