The Cause celebrates third anniversary with awareness event
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The health-awareness group The Cause will kick off its third anniversary celebration with an event beginning at noon Saturday at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1530 Third Ave.
Professional health-care workers will be on hand to offer education and resource awareness. Representatives include CarePoint Partners, Center for Organ Registry), WV Health Right and others. The information session will be followed by This Is My Story beginning at 1:30 p.m., in which people share their "testimonies" in the form of written, spoken words, dance or song.
This Is My Story serves as a source for sharing, healing and encouraging other individuals who may be going through some of the same health issues. Participants may share 5 to 7 minutes. There will be a memorial tribute to the late Teresa Staunton, organ donor, followed by a musical presentation from the Martin Luther King Jr. Male Chorus at 2 p.m.
The Cause is a nonprofit organization that was established to promote resource awareness as it relates to various sicknesses and diseases.
