State to begin fish stocking today
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- More than 32,000 pounds of fish are headed to 25 West Virginia streams and nine lakes
The state Division of Natural Resources will begin the stocking Tuesday and continue it until Oct. 25.
Despite some of the lakes and streams being on or near federal property, only one location will not be stocked because of the government shutdown.
The Charleston Daily Mail reports that Rock Cliff Lake in Hardy County will not be stocked if the shutdown doesn't end in the next two weeks.
The division's chief, Curtis Taylor, said the only access to Rock Cliff Lake is closed because of the shutdown.
