Trail Club hike
Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a hike Sunday on a country road in Quick. Meet at 1:30 p.m. to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. The hike is about 3 miles and is an easy out and back walk.Greater Sissonville Development Council

The Pilot Club of Charleston will sell luminaries for $5 each following the Veterans Parade Monday at Haddad Park to pay tribute to veterans or to honor their memory. Cards will be placed in each one with the name of the veteran being honored or remembered. A short ceremony will begin at 5 p.m., which will include Bertha Crunute, a Rosie during WWII and the George Washington High School ROTC. Lighting of the luminaries will follow and they will be placed around the Veterans Memorial on the grounds of the State Capitol. Those who purchased luminaries are invited to participate in this ceremony as well as veterans and their families. For information, contact Linda Fauber 304-965-0328.
