Catholics to hold collection for typhoon relief

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Parishes in the Catholic Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston will take a special second collection Nov. 16-17 to benefit those affected by the devastating typhoon that hit the Philippines Friday.The diocese will also have an online giving link on its website at sometime this weekend. All collections will go to international outreach agency Catholic Relief Services, which will be working with local governments and parishes in the Philippines to maximize the agency's response and recovery efforts so people who need it most get the help they need, according to a statement from the diocese.
