Braxton gets $500,000 in Head Start funding
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Braxton County Board of Education is getting more than $531,000 in federal funding to improve and support their Head Start program.
Sens. Jay Rockefeller and Joe Manchin announced the funding Thursday.
Head Start is a national development program for low-income children to help prepare them for school from a young age.
The program is administered by the Department of Health and Human Services and offers eligible children and their families access to health, nutrition, education and social services.
