Man arrested after standoff with marshals, police (photo)
U.S. marshals and Kanawha County sheriff's deputies stand outside an apartment off Hillcrest Drive after a brief standoff Tuesday. Miguel Quinones Jr. was arrested by federal marshals on a parole violation after the standoff at the complex, located in the 1000 block of Centers Road, said Capt. Sean Crosier, of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department.
Sheriff Mike Rutherford said he thought the standoff started when U.S. marshals tried to serve a warrant. School buses were stopped from going up Hillcrest Drive during the standoff, which coincided with the end of the school day. Marshals, Charleston police and the Sheriff's Department SWAT team responded to the scene.
Shawnique Hudson, 25, also was arrested at the apartment for lying to federal authorities about Quinones' whereabouts, Crosier said.
