Animal rescue fundraiser
HURRICANE, W.Va. -- New Hope Animal Rescue is selling personalized stockings for dogs and cats filled with toys and treats to raise money for its spay/neuter and medical programs as well as for its fund to build a no-kill shelter in the Kanawha/Putnam county area.The stockings, which sell for $20 each, also contain a dozen preservative-free, homemade dog biscuits. The biscuits also can be purchased separately for $5 per dozen.Orders will be taken through Dec. 14 by calling New Hope Animal Rescue at 304-562-0300. Stockings will be available for pickup between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Dec. 19 and 21 at New Hope's thrift store Paws and Shop, 2806 Putnam Ave., Hurricane.
