Mountaineer Montessori School, 308 20th Street, will hold its annual book fair and bake sale Wednesday and Dec. 11-12. Books and educational gifts, along with homemade seasonal and ethnic dishes and holiday treats, will be available for purchase during regular school hours. The school's official line of "M" gear will be for sale. Proceeds benefit the MMS "Lighting the Way for Education" campaign, which supports scholarship assistance and specialty programs at the school. The Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a hike on Dec. 15 at the Chief Logan Festival of Lights, Woodpecker/Rattlesnake/Fitness trails. Meet at 2:30 p.m. to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. Regroup at the museum parking lot.
