GASSAWAY, W.Va. -- Kroger announced Thursday that, with help from its customers, the company has donated $25,000 to the Mountaineer Food Bank.Joe Antolini, Kroger district manager, presented Mountaineer Food Bank executive director Carla Nardella with the donation at Kroger's Gassaway location."This gift is the result of generous Kroger shoppers and our dedicated employees," Antolini said in a news release. "They have expressed their concern for the health of their neighbors by making donations at the register all year long, contributing to Bringing Hope to the Table and other Kroger food drives."The food bank will be able to buy 200,000 meals with the donation."For years, Kroger has provided support to us in the form of money and food," Nardella said. "We are grateful for the leadership of Kroger in generously supporting the cause of feeding the hungry in West Virginia."
