Weekend traffic accidents result in fatalities
CHARLESTON, W.Va. --Two car wrecks in the Mountain State over the weekend resulted in fatalities.
A Virginia man was killed early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash along W.Va. 92, according to a press release from the West Virginia State Police.
Driver Christopher S. Bradley, 22, of Catawba, Va., was found dead at the scene.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Also, a Pendleton County man was killed Saturday in a single-vehicle accident along secondary Route 21, south of U.S. 33.
An investigation showed Luther Junior Helmick, 81, of Brandywine, lost control of his vehicle, hit an embankment and rolled the vehicle onto its top, according to State Police.
Helmick died as a result of his injuries.
A passenger, James Helmick, 87, of Brandywine, was critically injured and flown to University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, Va., for treatment.
