WVU fan clubThe Kanawha Valley WVU Fan Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Harding's Restaurant, next to Interstate 79, Exit 1. Speaker will be offensive line coach Ron Crook.Open micUnity of Kanawha Valley will host Ron Sowell's Open Mic at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Performers sign up at 7 p.m. Admission is $5; $2 for performers, children and seniors. Refreshments are available for a small donation. Unity of Kanawha Valley is at 804 Myrtle Road. Ron Sowell's Open Mic takes place on the second Friday of each month.
Monopoly tournamentThe Charleston Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor the 19th annual Monopoly tournament at 11 a.m. Jan. 25 at Charleston Town Center Mall. All game players must be 10 or older to participate. Onsite registration begins at 10 a.m. Space is limited. There is no registration fee. Bring a calculator.
