Charleston woman going to prison for DUI death

CHARLESTON, W.Va.-- A Charleston woman will spend up to 10 years in prison for a fatal crash she caused while driving the wrong way on Interstate 77 last spring.Angela Renee Walker, 45, was sentenced to 2 to 10 years by Kanawha Circuit Judge Duke Bloom on Wednesday.
Walker had been driving her Hyundai Elantra the wrong way on the interstate for three miles when she hit a pickup truck driven by Edward Pete Bryant Jr., 48, of Big Chimney.The wreck, at the I-77/64 split in Charleston, happened on March 28 of last year. Walker told police she had been using cocaine and alcohol before the accident. She pleaded guilty in November to DUI causing death. "She was up in the passing lane and he had nowhere to go," assistant Kanawha County prosecutor Fred Giggenbach said of the wreck. Walker hit Bryant's pickup truck head-on, killing him instantly.
