HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- A Detroit man was sentenced to five years in federal prison on Monday in connection with a heroin distribution case.Durrell Desean Lucas, also known as "D," 40, of Huntington, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute more than 100 grams of heroin in September. U.S. District Judge Robert C. Chambers sentenced Lucas in Huntington, according to a news release issued by U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin.Between January 2013 and July 2013, Lucas made phone calls to an undercover U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency detective about heroin transactions, according to the release. Lucas allegedly sold heroin to the undercover agent twice near Huntington.
DEA agents searched Lucas' apartment in September, where Lucas threw about 12 grams of heroin from his window, according to the release. Lucas allegedly told police he sold about 150 to 250 grams of heroin in and around Huntington.
