Two arrested in group home heat pump thefts
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Kanawha County sheriff's deputies on Thursday arrested two men for allegedly stealing several heat pumps from an independent living facility in Charleston.
On Jan. 6, deputies investigated three missing heat pumps, valued at about $5,000 each, from the Appalachian Independent Living facility.
Security footage led to the identity of two in connection to the theft, according to a news release issued by Kanawha Sheriff's Cpl. Brian Humphreys.
William Richard Scott "Scotty" Nottingham, 29, of Elkview, and Carl Clayton Larch, 32, of Walton, were arrested and charged with grand larceny.
Both men are being held in South Central Regional Jail each in lieu of a $25,000 bail.
