MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- A West Virginia trial has been postponed for a man convicted in Pennsylvania in a crash that killed a sheriff's deputy. Jerod Green was indicted in Monongalia County in September on charges of drunken driving, leaving the scene of the accident and fleeing. The charges stem from a hit-and-run accident in February 2012. West Virginia authorities pursued Green's truck into southwestern Pennsylvania, where it crashed into Monongalia County Sgt. Todd May's cruiser on Interstate 79. May was killed. Green was convicted of third-degree murder in Pennsylvania and is serving 25 to 50 years in prison. Monongalia County Circuit Judge Russell Clawges on Friday rescheduled Green's trial for April 15 to give Green's new attorney more time to prepare, WBOY-TV reported.
