Fire damages Novelis plant in Fairmont
FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Novelis North America is investigating a fire that damaged a section of its plant in Fairmont.
Media outlets report that the fire occurred early Sunday morning. No injuries were reported.
Novelis North America spokeswoman Fiona Bell tells The Times West Virginian that the fire was limited to a piece of equipment on the plant's roof. She says the plant is operating but the damaged section was temporarily shut down for repairs.
Bell says the company is conducting an internal investigation to determine the fire's cause.
The plant produces aluminum rolled products.
