Trail club hike
Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a hike Sunday on the Windtryst Trail in Nitro. Meet at 1:30 p.m. to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. The hike is about 4 miles on a moderate ridge with some steep and rocky trails with scenic overlooks and a cemetery. A bonfire will be held afterwards.
Republican women meet
The Kanawha County Republican Women will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Charleston Civic Center. A buffet will be served and the cost is $11. Parking is free. Speaker will be Steve Harrison, candidate for Congress. For information, call 304-965-5365.
Montessori open house
Charleston Montessori School will have its spring open house from 2 to 4 p.m. on March 8 at 805 Price St. on the West Side. Montessori is a creative community school and provides education for children ages 3-12 years. Meet faculty, staff and families and learn more about the Montessori method as well as unique aspects including commitment to community service and green school practices.
