Three arrested in Fayette man's beating, robbery
ANSTED, W.Va. -- Fayette County sheriff's deputies arrested three people on Thursday in the robbery and bearing of a man last month.
Mark Randolph Skaggs, 33, of Lansing; and Aaron Ray Pack, 24, and Penny L. Browning, 21, both of Ansted; were charged with first-degree robbery, malicious wounding and conspiracy to commit a felony.
On Feb. 22, Thomas Stull, 23, sold one roxycodone pill to Browning at Skagg's house in Ansted, according to a news release from Fayette County Sheriff Steve Kessler.
After Stull handed over the pill, Skaggs and Pack beat him with an ax handle before taking his money, according to the release.
Stull managed to escape the house and called paramedics, who took him to Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill. He was later taken to CAMC General Hospital.
Skaggs, Pack and Browning were each being held Thursday in Southern Regional Jail in lieu of a $35,000 bond.
