Man injured in collision with tractor-trailer
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- An elderly Charleston man was hospitalized this morning after he slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer on Sissonville Drive.
Capt. Sean Crosier of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department said David L. Keen, 78, of Charleston, was heading north on Sissonville Drive at about 5:15 a.m. when he slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer that had slowed down to make a right-hand turn. The accident occurred in the 2900 block of Sissonville Drive, not far outside Charleston city limits.
The truck was operated by Larsen Trucking of Greenville, Michigan, Crosier said. The truck driver, Jeffrey Perry, 45, of Alma, Mich., was not hurt.
Keen was taken to CAMC General Hospital with unknown injuries, Crosier said.
Crosier does not expect either driver to be cited.
