Couple charged in Boone County drug bust

MADISON, W.Va. -- Police charged a Boone County couple over the weekend with operating a methamphetamine lab in a home near Racine.Boone County sheriff's deputies were conducting patrols in the Big Coal River area when they received a tip about someone operating a methamphetamine lab in Short Creek near Racine, said Sheriff Rodney Miller.
Deputies went to the home of Jeremy Darrell Workman, 28, and Brooksan Kay Huffman, 22, and found materials used to make the drug, Miller said. They also found a large dump behind the house where they believe the couple disposed of waste from making methamphetamine.Both were charged with conspiracy and operating a clandestine lab. They were in the Southwestern Regional Jail on Monday in lieu of $100,000 bond each.
