CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The city of Charleston will be handing out free garbage bags on the city's West Side under Interstate 64 along Pennsylvania Avenue between Lee and Randolph Streets next week.
City crews will be at that location from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday to hand out the bags. Residents must bring the official plastic bag authorization form to receive their allotment of new bags.
Those forms were mailed in the past week to people who pay refuse fees and who are current with their accounts, according to a press release issued by the city Thursday.
Make up days are scheduled for Oct. 18 and Nov. 15 at the same location.
Residents who did not receive an authorization form in the mail should contact the city collector's office at 304-348-8024 to examine their account status.
