Hilman Raynes

Mr. Hilman Dale Raynes, 85, of Nitro, went home to be with the Lord April 6, 2017, in CAMC Memorial Division.

Hilman is a former employee of Avtex Fibers and Ravenswood Aluminum. He is a member of the Steelworkers Union and an Army veteran. He attended Nitro Church of the Nazarene and is a former member of Walton Church of the Nazarene.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Evelyn Raynes, and brothers, George and Paul Raynes.

Hilman is survived by his wife of 62 1/2 years, Mrs. Erma Raynes; son Dr. M. Todd Raynes; grandsons Ryan and wife Cara Raynes and Hunter Raynes; siblings Sammy and wife Saralee Raynes, David and wife Judy Raynes, Evelyn and husband Hank Wriston, Patricia and husband Larry Wolfe, and Robert and wife Linda Raynes; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at CAMC Memorial Division CPICU and the Nitro Fire Department for all the care given to the Raynes family.

A tribute to the life of Mr. Hilman Raynes will be 1 p.m., Monday, April 10, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bron Walker and Rev. Robert Raynes officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.
