  • White-tailed deer may be hunted with archery equipment through Dec. 31. The bag limit is one deer per season, two with special permit.
  • Black bears may be hunted with archery equipment through Nov. 17. The bag limit is one bear per season, two in selected counties.
  • Wild boar may be hunted with archery equipment through Dec. 31. The bag limit is one boar per season.
  • Small game
  • Wild turkeys may be hunted in selected counties through Sept. 20. The bag limit is one turkey a season.
  • Raccoons may be hunted through Feb. 28. There is no bag limit.
  • Squirrels may be hunted through Jan. 31. The bag limit is six squirrels a day.

  • West Virginia's fall trout stockings will end.
  • Oct. 20
  • West Virginia's one-day antlerless-deer hunt for youth, disabled and properly licensed elderly hunters will be held.

  • West Virginia's firearm season for wild boar will begin, one-half hour before sunrise.
  • West Virginia's new firearm antlerless-deer season will close, one-half hour after sunset.
