Mitchell back with Mountaineers
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Shooting guard Casey Mitchell, who was suspended by Coach Bob Huggins Oct. 15 for violating team rules, is back with the West Virginia men's basketball team.
WVU Sports Information Director Bryan Messerly said Mitchell was reinstated over the weekend and has practiced with the team in recent days.
Mitchell, the 2008 junior college national player of the year at Florida's Chipola College, averaged 3.7 points and 8.6 minutes in 32 games last season, his first with the Mountaineers. A noted 3-point specialist, the 6-foot-4 senior, who is originally from Savannah, Ga., and was recruited out of high school by Huggins, made 29 of 86 attempts (30.2 percent) last season.
