CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston RiverDogs scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to help put away the West Virginia Power 4-3 Friday at Joseph P. Riley Park.The RiverDogs won their fifth straight game, while the Power fell for the fourth consecutive time.Reymond Nunez's RBI ground out scored Ben Gamel to give Charleston (11-3) a 3-2 lead in the seventh. After a walk to Anderson Feliz, Mason Williams drew a bases-loaded free pass that scored Kelvin De Leon for an insurance run.West Virginia (5-10) managed to push one run across in the eighth, but the inning came to an end when Jodaneli Carvajal was caught stealing home. The Power also left a runner on at third base when the game ended.
RiverDogs starter Scottie Allen gave up two runs on six hits in six innings. Reliever Fred Lewis (2-0) got the win after pitching a scoreless seventh, and Ben Paullus finished for his second save.Zack Dodson surrendered two unearned runs on three hits in six innings for the Power. Stetson Allie (0-1) allowed two runs on one hit and walked four in one-third of an inning.Willy Garcia drove in two runs for West Virginia, while Alen Hanson, Jose Osuna and Dan Gamache each went 2-for-4.The Power and the RiverDogs continue their four-game set at 7:05 tonight. Nick Kingham (0-0, 12.86 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Power against Charleston's William Oliver (0-1, 1.64).
