Roundup: Bradshaw shares lead in Pittsburgh
Bakerton's David Bradshaw remained tied for first place after the third round of the Frank B. Fuhrer Invitational Tuesday at the Pittsburgh Field Club in Pittsburgh.
Bradshaw shot a 2-over-par 72, as did Matt Schall, while Nathan Sutherland had the low round of the day with a 1-under-par 69, tying all three golfers with a total of 212 over the first three rounds.
Mason's Ty Roush was for 13th, while Tygart Lake pro Brad Westfall tied for 15th and Bob Friend of Morgantown and Hurricane's Scott Davis were tied for 17th. (Results, Page 2B.)
TOP FLITE: Williamstown's Austin Root had a 1-over-par 72 to win the Top Flite Junior Tour Tuesday at the Robert Trent Jones Course at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling.
Root won the 17-18 division, while Wheeling's Cole Hand took the 15-16 flight, Marco Oliverio of Bridgeport won the 13-14 division and Oceana's Colin Bowles claimed the 12-and-under division.
Ryan Mumaw of Charles Town won the 17-18 flight, Sterling Fitzwater of Fairmont claimed the 15-16 division and Hedgesville's Owen Elliott took the 13-14 division. (Results, Page 2B.)
WVU SWIMMING: West Virginia seniors Bryce Bohman and Rachael Burnett each placed in the top 40 of their respective events Tuesday at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, Neb.
Bohman finished 36th in the 100-meter backstroke in 56.56, while Burnett was 38th in the 400 freestyle with a time of 4:16.48. WVU junior Danielle Smith finished 139th in the 100 backstroke in 1:05.27.
