Revercomb scores 4 in Catholic romp

Charleston Catholic turned out the lights again on Point Pleasant.Sam Revercomb scored four goals in leading the Fighting Irish to a 6-1 victory over the Big Blacks in boys soccer on Thursday night.A crowd of about 50 attended the match. The lights went out for 51 minutes in the first half at Schoenbaum Soccer Stadium at Coonskin Park.Catholic had beaten Point the last three years in the regional finals en route to three consecutive Class AA-A state titles. The Big Blacks won't see the Fighting Irish (3-0) in the playoffs again this season, since they moved to Class AAA.This one was especially sweet for Revercomb, who scored all his goals against his travel teammate, Brady Reymond of Point Pleasant."He's my travel goalie, so this one is special," Revercomb said. "My teammates set me up, it's not all me. I just decided to finish tonight."
Revercomb had three goals by the time the lights went as Catholic built a 3-0 first-half lead."We've got a lot of work to do," said Point coach Chip Wood. "We've got to play more physical. I'm shocked by the score."Tommy Foust scored for Point on a goal from near midfield on a free kick.
