Prep soccer roundup: Sissonville girls pick up 3-2 win over St. Albans
Lydia Murray, Karli Pinkerton and Mary Schmeck each scored for Sissonville as the Indians defeated St. Albans 3-2 Thursday night in girls high school soccer.Murray, Schmeck and Taylor Rhodes each had assists for Sissonville (5-1-0) while Audrey Goode and Hannah Myers scored goals for St. Albans (1-2-1).
NITRO 7, RIPLEY 0: Junior Laine Roberts scored three goals as Nitro downed host Ripley. Savannah Miller notched a pair of goals for the Wildcats (3-0), while Autumn Griggs and Tessa Musilli tallied one apiece. Ripley fell to 0-7.
HERBERT HOOVER 7, POCA 0: Cassandra Hammes scored three times to lead Herbert Hoover. Hannah Schoolcraft scored twice with Megan Allen and Leslie Taylor each adding a goal for the Huskies. Hoover goalkeeper Bailey Aeb recorded nine saves.
CAPITAL 4, RIVERSIDE 1: Rebecca DiMarco scored a pair of goals to lead the Cougars to a win on the road. Ally Reeves and Katie Crowder scored a goal each for Capital (4-1). Rachel Daw scored the only goal for Riverside.
GW 2, PARKERSBURG 1: Andrea Breeden and Stephanie Kelly each scored a goal as George Washington (3-0) notched a road win. Connie Chefren scored for Parkersburg (3-2).
SISSONVILLE 2, POINT 0: Josh Rawson and Andy Minsker each scored in Sissonville's road win. Anthony Rinehart made 24 stops for the Indians (4-0) and Brady Reymond stopped 12 shots for the Big Blacks (3-2).
HOOVER 1, SHADY SPRING 0: Troy Silber netted a goal in the 74th minute as Herbert Hoover edged host Shady Spring. The Huskies (2-3) were outshot by the Tigers 25-4.
HURRICANE 1, NITRO 0: Ian Miles scored off an assist from Mat Morgan in the first half for host Hurricane (5-0). Evan Eich made seven saves for the Wildcats (4-3).
