Adam Lindamood ran for three touchdowns, including a 97-yarder that set a school record, to lead Parkersburg to a 42-22 victory at St. Albans in high school football on Friday.Lindamood's 97-yarder in the third quarter broke the record of 95 yards set by his grandfather, Fred Early, in 1940. Lindamood, who also scored on runs of 16 and 30 yards, totaled 259 yards on 13 carries.St. Albans' Drew Kirby scored on a 2-yard run to give the Red Dragons a 6-0 first-quarter lead and finished with 89 yards on 22 attempts. Kirby also scored on a 29-yard run in the third quarter.The Big Reds (3-2) totaled 431 yards, including 350 on the ground. The Red Dragons (0-5) passed for 211 yards and rushed for 158.
BUFFALO 57, GILMER 0: Levi Jordan completed just seven passes but five went for touchdowns as Buffalo defeated visiting Gilmer County. Jordan, who was 7-for-12 for 327 yards, connected with Gabe Garrison on TD passes of 74, 63 and 24 yards, and hit Laythen Good on a 53-yarder and a 78-yarder for touchdowns.Bubba Legg led the Bison ground game, gaining 174 yards on 15 carries, and scored on a 15-yard carry. Garison Erwin returned the game's opening kickoff 86 yards for a TD.Buffalo (3-1) is No. 11 in Class A. Gilmer County, which passed for 240 yards, is 1-4. NITRO 27, LINCOLN COUNTY 24: Alex White's 20-yard field goal in the final seconds made the difference in Nitro's victory over visiting Lincoln County. Brayden Underwood, who led the Nitro ground game with 105 yards on 18 carries, scored on runs of 1 and 7 yards. Ethan Clark scored on a 76-yard pass from Chris Moody, who completed 10 of 25 passes for 203 yards with one interception.Clark caught five passes for 118 yards. White also kicked a 16-yard field goal as Nitro (2-3) won its second straight game after 18 losses in a row. VALLEY 38, FAYETTEVILLE 14: Valley scored the game's first five touchdowns - by five different players - en route to victory over Fayetteville at Martin Field in Montgomery.
Cody Winter, who scored the Greyhounds' opening TD on an 8-yard run, led the team's rushing, carrying 13 times for 107 yards. Myles White returned the second-half kickoff 88 yards for a score.Fayetteville's Jacob Alton carried 16 times for 139 yards, including a 29-yard touchdown.Valley is 4-0 and ranked No. 2 in Class A. Fayetteville dropped to 0-5. ROANE 31, BRAXTON 6: Hunter Bradley completed 8 of 17 passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns to lead Roane County to victory at Braxton County. Bradley, who also kicked a 25-yard field goal, threw TD passes to Tyler King for 25 yards and Steven McGinnis for 13. He did not throw an interception. Roane's Luke Scott rushed for 68 yards on eight carries.
Roane (3-2) led 17-6 at halftime. For Braxton (2-3), Jacob Yanero carried 21 times for 100 yards, including a 4-yard score. MIDLAND 14, HUNTINGTON 13: Cabell Midland blocked an extra point after the Highlanders' Mark Shaver threw a 74-yard touchdown pass to Lamar Thompson early in the fourth quarter and the Knights held on to a win in a showdown between Class AAA co-No. 1s at Huntington. Shaver also accounted for a 14-yard TD run that started the scoring in the second quarter for Huntington (4-1).Midland's Lowell Farley answered with a 1-yard run in the second and David Gaydosz added a 36-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Chris Molina nailed both of his extra-point kicks to provide the difference for the Knights (5-0).
