Soccer roundup: Hurricane girls win on last-minute goal

Brittany Minor scored with 22 seconds remaining as Class AAA No. 2 Hurricane escaped with a home win over Class AA-A No. 7 Charleston Catholic Wednesday evening in girls high school soccer.Hurricane (12-0-1) outshot the Fighting Irish 15-4. Annie Crockett made three saves for Catholic (6-4-4), while Callie McClanahan and Maddie Thomas combined to stop two shots for the Redskins.

  • HOOVER 10, LINCOLN CO. 0: Cassie Hames tallied three goals as Class AA-A No. 10 Herbert Hoover cruised to a road win. Hannah Schoolcraft had two for Hoover (9-4-1) while Melody Strickland, Leslie Taylor, Amber Williams, Sarah Henderson and Meg Allen also scored.
